Boreal Mountain Resort Set to Open Today
First ski/snowboard resort scheduled to open in Northern California

DONNER SUMMIT, Calif., - Boreal Mountain Resort is set to kick off the 2007- 2008 winter ski and snowboard season today, Monday, November 12, 2007. Boreal is once again Northern California’s first resort to open. Boreal is scheduled to offer its traditional early season intermediate trail via the Gunnar’s Chairlift, one moving carpet for beginners, plus jib features for park riders. Operations are on a day by day basis as conditions permit.

“Five inches of new snow fell Saturday night and the snowmaking team at Boreal has taken full advantage of cold temperatures that dropped below freezing Sunday evening,” said Director of Mountain Operations Shaydar Edelmann. Lift tickets will be reduced to $30 for ages 13+, and $12 for kids ages 5-12. Boreal will be open from 12 p.m. until after dark for opening day, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily as conditions permitting. More lifts and runs will continue to open as snow conditions permit. Resort services will include all base facilities including food and beverage, ski/snowboard rentals, and retail.
